The penthouse living room opens up to a massive outdoor deck area which was in desperate need of a makeover so that it would pleasantly blend with the interior design. It was decided that the deck would be divided into two seating areas. One raised deck area, complete with planters and comfortable seating, to enjoy the view, and one tiled area for barbecuing and dining.

There were many things to consider when choosing the exterior tiles.  They had to be laid over existing retaining wall molds, be low maintenance, dense, non-porous, stain and slip resistant, and more important,  quick draining.

The finished design was both functional and aesthetically pleasing.
